I am a researcher on the Vald applied research initiative grant, in which Vald products are embedded into orthopaedic pathways within the NHS and private sectors. I am responsible for data collection, analysis and visualisation, providing information to patients on an individual level, but also working with a wider team to perform large scale data analysis.

I provide expert assessment and treatment to a variety of patients with shoulder problems. With access to a variety of high tech equipment, objective testing is used to inform subsequent rehabilitation programs and track patients progress over time.

I am responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries within a private practice setting. I am an accredited strength and conditioning coach with the UKSCA. This has developed my understanding of training loads and variables and how to alter these to optimise recovery. I use fundamental principles of training and periodisation to ensure rehabilitation programmes are systematic, methodical and efficient. Alongside the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries, I led the development and implementation of the shoulder assessment unit using a variety of testing equipment (handheld dynamometer, isokinetic dynamometer, force plates) to build detailed reports of the progress of athletes through their rehabilitation process. I worked on the development and implementation of the lower limb assessment unit and see patients and athletes on a regular basis using this systems based approach. The assessment unit has allowed me to work with a number of professional athletes, several of whom I now work with on a permanent basis as their strength and conditioning coach and link between the medical and performance teams. Working as part of an interdisciplinary team helped me to develop my communication skills while learning from a variety of professions. Previously worked as a pitch side physiotherapist at Southampton Football Club, in which responsibilities included providing the first line of assessment and treatment of any injuries sustained during a match. Worked with a variety of age groups ranging from age 9 –14. Took part in teaching sessions throughout the season.
