XB-1 Program [Structural Analysis]: Primary obligations include supersonic jet demonstrator static and dynamic structural analysis. Structural layout and optimization of composite airframe primary structure. Analysis and design of solid laminates, sandwich panels, bonded joints, etc. Standard aerospace checks on static stress, buckling, modal analysis. Vehicle loads, flutter, and stress FEM development. Selection and prioritization of critical ASTM coupon testing and development of element level test plans for structural features like bonded joints and cored panels. Structural test correlation and failure predictions. Deliver internal training on stress and FEA topics. Generating common analysis procedures (methods development) for analysis subteams, and enabling fast-turnaround analysis via spreadsheets and scripting. XB-1 Program [Loads and Dynamics]:External loads development coordination, review, and publishing to structures team members. Responsible engineer for flutter analysis, Ground Vibration Testing (GVT), and Structural Mode Interaction (SMI) testing. Component and full vehicle flutter analysis, including aerodynamic response predictions. GVT and SMI planning, execution, and post-processing (e.g. FRFs, model correlation). Flutter and ASE pre/post-processing code development. Flight flutter test preparations/ flight test engineer. Evaluation of random dynamic environments. Overture Program:Interim group head for Loads and Dynamics. Flutter analysis tooling, evaluation of flutter risks during early conceptual design.
