Lead investigator of projects involving problem-solving in materials selection, processing, and service conditions. Daily responsibilities include scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectroscopy (with or without clients), directing and training of technicians, non-destructive testing, sectioning and metallographic sample preparation, optical microscopy, analyzing data, communication with clients by phone and email, technical writing (failure analysis reports, PowerPoint reports, and emailed summaries).

Efficiently fabricated lithium-based coin cell batteries with high electrochemical reproducibility. Prepared electrode slurry, regulated parameters of strip cast, and processed electrodes for assembly. Characterized surface area and particle size of a range of electrode materials via BET and PSA. Oversaw the maintenance and safety of glovebox and other instrumentation for coin cell production.

Cooperated with industry partners to characterize materials for superior battery performance. Designed experiments to improve battery performance through incorporation of different groups of carbon for expansion of charge acceptance/working voltage range of lead-acid anodes. Characterized surface area and pores of carbons via Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) testing. Performed statistical analysis on the battery performance metrics for materials selection. Presented the results accomplished in various research poster competitions

Prepared variety of copper, aluminum and steel castings. Studied the microstructure with optical and electron microscopy. Determined corrosion (Tafel Plots), wetting and mechanical properties. Set up experimental parameters to develop corrosion resistant slurries.
