Concept Consultants Pty Ltd services included Pre Purchase Building Inspections Reports, Building Defect Reports, Dilapidation Reports, Construction Progress & Quality Reports and Insurance Assessing. I successfully managed and traded Concept Consultants Pty Ltd along with my residential building business at the time.

Based on performance, I was promoted to Project Manager. In this position, I was responsible for the management and supervision of multiple larger projects and running contracts. Day to day tasks included heading successful tenders, monitoring and maintaining a high standard of quality, safety and environmental aspects whilst managing employees and associated trades. In this role, I supervised residential insurance work for a number of major companies including NRMA, CGU and AAMI. Soon after proving my competence I was also given the responsibility to supervise the contracts for Parramatta City Council as the preferred contractor.Further proving my ability to excel I was given the opportunity to manage and oversee the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority contract. This contract alone led me to manage four full time on site employees, coordinate trades, undertake quality control procedures, tender for works up to $100k. Carry out and submit site safety audits, implement site specific safe work method statements and maintain a good relationship with clients.During this period, I also managed on average more than 45 jobs at any one time, while continuing to tender for further contracts and manage running contracts.

Work was on residential dwellings and ranged from extension and renovations to detailed joinery work. During this time I developed an understanding of how to mediate between parties and gained a better understanding of working for oneself. This work motivated me to set up my own business in the future.

Before starting my apprenticeship, I gained one year of onsite knowledge and experience working at the Newington Olympic site, while studying aPre-apprenticeship TAFE course. This set me up for a head start in my trade apprenticeship, allowing me to acquire the knowledge about construction sites and tools before beginning my time towards becoming a qualified tradesmen. Projects undertaken during this period included high rise fit outs in inner Sydney to twenty townhouses and general residential works, mainly in the northern suburbs of Sydney. After three years in my apprenticeship, I was given the opportunity to supervise projects. In this role I supervised the trades, read plans, organised materials, liaised with clients and provided quality control for all works in up to four residential projects at any one time.
