Departmental Information Technology Resources (DITR)Basic Functions and Responsibilities:To support the departmental computing environment of one or more Service Level Agreement(SLA) clients (i.e., MIT departments) in a way that ensures client satisfaction, and is consistentwith MIT IS&T departmental computing framework, including HW and SW standards.Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:* Responding to any customer questions or concerns about their departmental computing(desktops, laptops, printers, HW/SW interactions, etc.)* Taking the lead in conducting needs assessment and providing recommendations* Preparing new computer deployments based on that assessment* Transferring data from old computers to newly deployed computers as needed* Delivering and setting up the new computers* Providing basic orientation for the end user(s) including validating functioning of all officesystems (printers, Microsoft Office, browsers, certificates, SAP, calendaring, etc.)* Ongoing SW/HW upgrades and problem resolution.* To ensure client satisfaction, regular interactions and updates to clients are expected.* Communicate with customers effectively.* Communicate with Team Leader effectively.* Increase knowledge of platforms and software for which we are responsible.* Responsibilities may also include system administration and preventative maintenance.* Perform additional Service Level Agreement duties at the direction of DITR Team Leadersas needed.* Responsible for weekly and monthly updates on events to Team Leader.

** First alum in the programs 10 year history to be elected to its National Board of Directors.Year Up Program IT Certification 2006-2007 A one-year intensive training program that provides six months of technical and professional skills training, a six month paid corporate internship, and college credits. Courses include desktop support, IT helpdesk, computer networking, business writing, customer service, project management, and conflict resolution.
