Research in an organic chemistry lab in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry under the supervision of Dr. Nicholas Salzameda. Synthesizing compounds to find better inhibition of the Botulinum neurotoxin. Trying to mimic similar interactions of those between the substrate and the protein to get the best inhibition. An enzyme assay is used to test the inhibition of the compounds.I have demonstrated knowledge in chemistry lab skills such as extraction, chromatography, and NMR.
