Tavon Learning Center contributes to the vitality of our greater Seattle communities by providing active learning and community programs that empower adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to acquire home and community skills for living better. As the Gardens Manager at Tavon, I care for the therapeutic gardens and landscape beds on our beautiful 6 acre property, manage volunteers, tend to a flock of chickens and barn cats, and teach garden lessons to members weekly.

Supervise and assist in the timely production of naturally leavened sourdough bread, pastries, and sandwiches. Create long-lasting partnerships with local retailers to grow the newly opened bakery into a successful atrisan sourdough provider

I had the opportunity to participate in an internship at Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS) through the National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates program. During my time at VIMS, I worked with the highly accomplished staff at the Aquaculture Genetics and Breeding Technology Center. After a summer of research, I had developed a presentation to share with the public and co-wrote a paper which was published in March 2016.
