Our nation faces a massive and ever-growing shortage of qualified teachers n PreK-12 classrooms. TEACH.org exists to build and lead an innovative and collaborative effort to solve a major challenge that regions and states are facing across the country: ensuring that all children have access to a talented teacher. As a Manager of Regional Initiatives, I support 3-5 regional initiatives in metro areas and states across the country to elevate the perception of the teaching profession and recruit high-quality candidates to become teachers.

Dallas/Fort Worth Area

Dallas/Fort Worth Area

In addition to fulfilling all the duties of a Progam Coordinator, I also lead our organization's participant & alumni career & talent support. I developed a 3-year career & talent strategic plan and have begun Year 1 of implementation, designing and facilitating career advancement workshops, coaching participants on interview and resume skills, and organizing networking and skill-building events for 900+ Teaching Trust participants and alumni.

Dallas/Fort Worth Area

In seven years, Teaching Trust has trained over 800 educators that impact 150 schools and serve over 75,000 students. As Program Coordinator for the Teaching Trust Alumni Network, I create opportunities for current participants and alumni to connect, collaborate, and learn with/from one another to improve educational outcomes for DFW students.As Program Coordinator, I manage all operations and logistics for Teaching Trust's participant and alumni network (the Community of Educators) leading our branding and communications efforts, event planning, data & database management, budget development and management, intern and volunteer coordination, and program evaluation.

Iowa City, Iowa Area

TRiO Upward Bound equips students who are potential first-generation college students and/or from low-income families for postsecondary success. In my role, I developed a multifaceted college- and career-readiness curriculum for high school students from three rural communities in southeast Iowa, resulting in 100% matriculation to postsecondary education for the 127 students we served each year.

Greater St. Louis Area

Served as a member of a highly selective two-year national service program committed to teaching in under-resourced public schools to address educational inequality in America. In my second year as a corps member, I directed monthly content team meetings of 15 upper-elementary school teachers to share and implement best practices. Following my corp commitment, I helped with screening and selecting the 2013 and 2014 TFA cohorts by conducting phone interviews with potential applicants.

Greater St. Louis Area

During my two years in the classroom, I taught over 100 incredible elementary school students, first as a self-contained fourth-grade teacher (all subjects) and then as a fourth- and fifth-grade social studies and writing teacher in my second year. During this time, I wrote a nine-unit social studies curriculum and authored three successfully-funded grants to finance field trips and classroom supplies.
