Washington D.C. Metro Area

Spark!Lab is a hands-on invention space at the National Museum of American History that seeks to empower children and families to become inventors and innovators. As a Lead Facilitator my responsibilities were centered around creating meaningful experiences for our visitors. I was promoted from Facilitator to Lead Facilitator in October 2018. In this role I had a variety of front facing and behind-the-scenes responsibilities. These included - onboarding, engaging and encouraging volunteers and visitors through conversation, inquiry and experimentation, assisting with daily operations and responding to any problems as they arise, developing and implementing evaluative research methods, and contributing ideas and feedback centered around visitor experience. Peer Innovation Coach

Academy For Innovation And Entrepreneurship

University Of Maryland, College Park

As a Peer Innovation Coach with the Academy for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (AIE), I learned innovation mindsets, tools, and processes - such as design thinking and lean start-up- so that I could then empower others to experiment with their own creativity through design and innovation. I was able to do this through facilitating and coaching a variety of learners and leaders at UMD, and designing and leading workshops with anywhere from 10 - 100 participants that leveraged these innovative mindsets and tools.Throughout this experience I was able to develop my own coaching style and strengthen my design abilities like, navigating ambiguity, conducting empathy research to learn from others, and synthesizing and sensemaking.

Resident Assistant

As a Resident Assistant at UMD, my main goal was to create a genuine community among the 50+ residents living on my floor. I assumed primary responsibility for responding to each unit’s unique needs, managing critical administrative tasks, and creating an environment that supported academic and social needs. In this role I developed relationships with each resident, maintained a network of university resources and services to connect students to what they needed, managed and documented incidents during weekly duty shifts, and planned and implemented monthly educational and social events. Being a Resident Assistant allowed me to develop leadership and communication skills that have proven to be incredibly valuable.
