I’m Hannah, a graphic designer based in the South West who’s interested in design for change including typography, publications and traditional making methods.Growing up on the moor by the seaside has left a big impression on me. It has helped shape who I am as a person alongside having a heavy influence on my design practice. My hobbies, not surprisingly, revolve around gardening, foraging and jam making, with a heavy side of design creation. My personal love for comedy has reflected itself into my style, which has been further influenced by witty & comic design, most notably the theories & styles found in the book ‘A Smile in the Mind’ by McAlhone and Quinton.Over time I have been developing my design skills and fundamental knowledge to improve and emphasise the combination of hands-on and digital processes working together. My creative process focuses on starting with physical, hand-produced elements and seamlessly blending them with digital techniques. This process often produces whimsical, yet thought-provoking outcomes.I’m very passionate about what I do and take the opportunity to involve myself in local competitions, group-projects and work placements that benefit all. As I use a variety of techniques and processes I recognise working in collaboration with others opens up new opportunities to approach design.
