I am currently a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh seeking a degree in human resource management. While I do not yet have any experience working directly in human resources, I have held many positions that provided me valuable skills in which I may apply in the field. Working as a customer service representative at Jack L. Marcus Corporation boosted my communication skills and problem-solving skills, having to answer phone calls from 20+ inmates a day. Musical theater is something I have been doing all of my life, and the skills that it has provided me have been extremely valuable. Theater and performing has shaped me into a very outgoing person, unafraid of a challenge, as I have performed solos in front of crowds of over 800 people. Theater also reinforced particularity and preciseness in my work, as everything must be perfect for a show. Working at Hung Hao Restaurant for years not only reinforced my communication skills-as I had to interact with customers and coworkers daily-, but it also provided me with a leadership opportunity. I trained four different new hires, providing each of them with the skills to work independently in less than two weeks.With years of experience working in customer service and a musical theater background, I hold many skills that would be valuable for the human resource field. If given the opportunity, I am sure I could be a valuable asset to your team.
