Delivered the portfolio valuation assessment and divestment transaction of the Papua New Guinea oil and gas producing field and gas discoveries including:* Successfully divested the producing field and contingent resources including competitive bidder engagement, negotiation, contract preparation, execution and business transition.* Led the full divestment process including quantitative and qualitative asset and market analysis, data room, joint venture partner and government engagement.

Some key achievements include:* Led negotiations for an underground brown-field resource expansion capitalizing on competitor position, value circa US$0.3Bn.* Led asset divestment review circa US$0.5Bn.* Led a US$1.1Bn project to develop strategy facilitating operational growth (infrastructure).* Led the statutory environmental approval process for a major growth project (circa US$5Bn).* Led the optimization review and execution strategy of a key strategic operating mine (open cut & underground) to BHP Billiton Executive Team members.* Negotiated and executed complex infrastructure optimization agreements with external peer organizations involving value, risk identification and mitigation.* Led the due diligence of multiple (>15) key acquisition opportunities within the Bowen Basin incorporating cross functional input from the full value chain including mining, processing, key infrastructure (utilities, port & rail) through to marketing (incorporating value-in-use). This included development of valuation models, performing valuation and decision analysis and recommending a specific option to the Executive team. The proposal was recognised as BHP Billiton leading practice and consequently was used as the basis for the multi-billion dollar Olympic Dam expansion investment proposal to the BHP Billiton Board & Group Management Committee.* Led the development of a fully integrated and strategic focused 5 year plan including establishing strategic imperatives and goals, defining the workforce and sourcing plan. The plan focused on integrating mining and processing to ensure a fully integrated mine strategic plan. This was adopted as the single business operating plan consolidating 4 integrated businesses (mine through to refinery). This plan was recognized as BHP Billiton leading practice.* Led the business investment case submission and approval process for the Olympic Dam strategic underground mine development (>US$200M). This provided for 10% additional growth production from the underground mine.

Key achievements include:* Led the organization finance transition into BHP Billiton including corporate finance reporting, budgeting, forecasting and reporting, SEC 20f preparation, implemented SAP, achieved full audit compliance and attained Sarbanes Oxley certification.* Utilised theory of constraints to identify mining process bottlenecks and manage investment to improve operational performance in the mine by 25%.* Successfully managed the Smelter Shutdown capital investment submission to BHP Billiton CEO (US$100 million) including valuation, range analysis and risk assessment.* Managed the uranium contract valuation (including valuing Uranium Marketing fixed volume and price contracts) and managed all aspects of the WMC acquisition accounting (US$3Bn). This resulted in a successful integration of Olympic Dam into the BHP Billiton portfolio.* Led the development of the initial Olympic Dam Investment Process Manual. This resulted in creating a robust capital investment process to support decision making across the business.* Developed and led the financial stewardship of the asset involving managing and optimizing the balance sheet and reducing month end processing time from 5 days to 2 days.

Some key achievements include:* Developed and led the exploration and appraisal portfolio valuation review, including developing and implementing economic models that was used for allocation of exploration funds annually, ~US$3.0Bn in total.* Led the fiscal due diligence and supported the subsequent in-country negotiations with governments in Africa and South America to establish exploration licence, fiscal terms and conditions. The result was the securing of off-shore exploration licences and establishing the production sharing contracts in two countries.* Led the global financial consolidation and reporting of exploration activity including preparation of statutory accounts and SEC 20f reporting.* Restructured the global exploration tax structure to ensure the utilization of tax credits, circa US$1.5Bn.* Provided industry global fiscal analysis that compared fiscal systems, government take and project returns in various countries and subsequently influenced new contract negotiations.* Established in-country cash transaction facilities including establishing bank accounts, financial assurances and integrated cash management with BHP Billiton Treasury (The Hague) in Africa and South America.
