Country Director, Uzbekistan
CurrentLead and manage American Councils for International Education’s $34.5 million portfolio of 15 education and development programs within the Republic of Uzbekistan on behalf of the US Department of State (ECA/SCA), the US Embassy in Uzbekistan, and the USAID/Uzbekistan Mission.As Country Director, I:• Oversee operations, finance, policy and procedure development and implementation, and a team of 56 that include LTTA/STTA international experts, local consultants, subcontractors, and ministerial PMU across five offices within Uzbekistan - Tashkent Fergana, Namangan, Qarshi, and Samarkand. • Manage and implement a program portfolio of 15 education and development projects that include youth employment, youth exchange, higher education capacity building, faculty exchange, youth focused TVET and 21st century foundational learning skills building, internship curriculum design, business education and adult leadership exchange, teacher and school leadership in-service training and licensure, educational assessment and certification,.• Conduct donor-implementation meetings with Ministry of Preschool and School Education (MOPSE), Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation (MHESI), and the Republican Center within the Government of Uzbekistan.• Conduct international business development, proposal writing, budgeting, international staffing and recruitment, project design and approach for the field office.• Oversee donor reporting compliance for all projects, activities, and awards,• Serve as a thought leader on international education and entrepreneurship development, and present at various events, forums, conferences.
