• Designed and synthesized novel small molecules targeting neurodegenerative diseases.• Identified compounds with excellent in vitro profiles including low nM potency, good oral bioavailability and brain penetration to achieve high target coverage in mice.• Utilized new chemistry methodologies including photoredox reactions, stoichiometric Pd oxidative complex methods to efficiently access a diverse set of final compounds with improved properties.• Effectively coordinated with outsourcing CROs to synthesize intermediates and final targets.• Collaborated with the discovery technology group to design and prepare NanoBRET tracer compounds to verify target engagement.• Site Lead of Amgen Asian Association Massachusetts Chapter: established the local chapter and co-led activities including Peabody Essex museum trip, Mid-Autumn festival, career discussion with scientific director Cen Xu (01/2019-12/2019).

Under the supervision of Professor Buchwald, we developed a new strategy to access enantioenriched N-alkyl aziridines enabled by copper-hydride catalysis in collaboration with Jeff Yang.

Assisted in NMR instrument training and maintenance.

Total synthesis of (–)-lansai B, (+)-nocardioazines A and B, (–)-acetylapoaranotin and (–)-acutumine.

Worked on the synthesis of a naphthalimide–rhodamine B derivative for selective recognition of Sn4+ ion in biological systems under the supervision of Professor Tao Yi.

Synthesized advanced-intermediates (i.e. first nine steps of synthetic route) at multi-gram scale for the total synthesis of (–)-N-methylwelwitindolinone C isothiocyanate in the Garg Lab.

Conducted research on the synthesis and characterization of a novel negative electrode, iron oxyfluoride in the laboratory of Professor Zhengwen Fu.
