I design, direct, and participate in research- and business-focused projects dedicated to the assessment of cognitive skills, social & emotional skills, and student learning outcomes and competencies (e.g., critical thinking, intercultural relations). I utilize quantitative and qualitative approaches in my basic and applied research and am an expert in the creation and validation of workforce-relevant assessments (e.g., personality inventories, SJTs, performance evaluations). I am experienced in illustrating the actionable value of technical concepts and findings for diverse audiences of important stakeholders. I operate effectively both in small teams and when managing - and mentoring - larger teams of junior scientists. I put a premium on balancing research rigor, efficiency, and meeting user needs. I have published articles in well-regarded peer-reviewed journals such as Psychological Science, Journal of Applied Psychology, Perspectives on Psychological Science, Review of General Psychology, and Journal of Experimental Social Psychology. I am interested in the relationship between relatively stable human attributes (e.g., personality traits, cognitive skills) and human productivity (e.g., career success, creativity, academic achievement, job performance & retention).
