My research, consulting, teaching and writing informs businesses, public institutions and social policy across a range of contexts, including healthcare, arts and culture, consumer wellbeing, aged care, and legal and regulatory environments through the examination of the effect of marketing on human behaviour, consumer decision-making in these contexts, and the social aspects of consumption.I am currently working on projects examining the ethical implications of the merging of Western business practice with indigenous owned and operated enterprises, how packaging influences children's food choices, digital promotion and persuasion, the relationship between social media and cosmetic surgery, and the influence of Buy Now, Pay Later amongst vulnerable people.I am the Director of the MBA program and Co-Director of the Better Consumption Lab at Deakin University's School of Business, and Adjunct Professor at Sacred Heart University in Milan. At Deakin University, I have designed and teach a unique hybrid MBA program (online/on-campus/residentials/study tours) that ranks 1st in the world for class experience. I travel frequently and work on research and consulting projects with people and organisations in Europe, Asia and the US, and speak frequently on major media, such as TV, radio, and print in relation to consumer behaviour and marketing. I publish in peer reviewed international journals, and have presented my research at universities and conferences such as the Academy of Marketing, Marketing Science, Yale & Princeton Universities.
