About Pete Harris
With over 36 years of experience in the comedy and entertainment industry, I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the most iconic names in British comedy. I began my career in 1988, founding the Screaming Blue Murder Comedy Clubs where I had the pleasure of installing Eddie Izzard as the resident compère. From there, I managed and promoted Eddie for six years, producing his first two West End runs at the Ambassadors Theatre (1993) and Albany Theatre (1994), along with his first two videos, Live at the Ambassadors and Unrepeatable. In 1995, I launched Stoneranger Productions for the Richard Stone Partnership before moving on to exclusively manage and promote Lee Hurst, a collaboration that lasted until 2001. After 13 successful years in comedy management and production, I took a sabbatical in 2001 to pursue other passions. This journey led me to spend six weeks as a Buddhist monk in Thailand and eventually settle in Phuket, where I managed the Phuket Punchline Comedy Club from 2007 to 2012.Upon returning to the UK in 2012, I promoted Lee Hurst’s 58-date UK tour and successfully doubled the audience for the iconic Mervyn Stutter’s Pick of the Fringe at the Edinburgh Festival in 2015 until 2024.The depth of my experience in the comedy business is hard to sum up in a summary such as this. Throughout my career, I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with leading comedians, including Ricky Gervais, Micky Flanagan, Lee Mack, Steve Coogan, Jack Dee, Lee Evans, Jimmy Carr, Bill Bailey, Alan Davies, Jo Brand and many more. My experience spans producing and promoting shows in the West End, at 18 Edinburgh Fringes, and creating, setting up, and managing major industry events like the Polo Mint Comedy Award and Universal Video Comedy Awards.Today, I specialise in social media marketing, tour marketing, career strategy, tour promotions for the comedy and entertainment industries.**Let's connect.** Reach me at office@peteharris.net.
