I'm Harry, a 17-year-old student currently studying at West Herts College who is aspiring to become a Cinematographer. I went to Bushey Academy to do my GCSES's and left with 7 Qualifications above level 5. After leaving school I enrolled on a Digital Content Production course to further my education and broaden my skillset. Since joining in 2020 we have covered a wide range of topics including Web Design, Filmmaking, Journalism, Magazine Design, Photography and Advertising. My favourite segment has been the Filmmaking portion of my course, I have created three different “short films” so far with one more by the end of the second year. Through this I have also learned many of the skills that are used in the industry such as Video editing, Audio editing, Script writing, Storyboarding and Filming. Alongside this I have developed knowledge for many of the Adobe Creative Cloud products such as Premier Pro, InDesign, Lightroom and Audition. For the first year of the course, I received a 100% grade for my work leaving me predicted a D*D*D* for the end of the second year. Aside from my academic studies, I have always had an interest in literature and storytelling. This has encouraged my passion for filmmaking and other various forms of storytelling. My inspiration recently has come from writers such as Simon Reeve and David Attenborough, through their works I have discovered how interesting our world really is and how little of it is documented and I want to fill that gap. Outside education, I have always kept a positive mental attitude that I have achieved through my hobbies and extracurricular activities. Within these areas, I believe I have shown that I possess determination which I have expressed through my interest in board sports such as Skateboarding and Snowboarding despite sustaining major injuries from both. Over the past few years, I have shown a consistent interest in working as I believe it to be a key aspect that should be started from an early age. Since this realisation, I have gained experience working in IT Support, as a runner in a bar/restaurant and as a Laborer for a Carpet fitting company. Here I have managed to develop skills such as time management and punctuality. Working with people of all ages and being part of a team.
