Close to a decade since I got my first job, my professional avatar has transformed quite significantly from where my career took off. > In my current role, I work closely with businesses, both early and mature outfits, advising them on business strategy. This includes fund raise/transaction strategies, go-to-market initiatives, developing IPO roadmaps or formulation of exit strategies, to name a few. At Prequate so far, I have worked with 75+ businesses advising founders and other key stakeholders alike, to craft and execute transformative strategic initiatives. This includes companies working on climate-tech, education, Web3, logistics, manufacturing, Fintech, Semi-con, Sports-tech, Marketplace models, tech and financial services, etc.> Previously, I spent ~5 years with KPMG where I completed my mandatory practical training to fulfil my pursuit to become a Chartered Accountant. The financial acumen that I possess today largely has to do with my stint there. It was working in assurance that provided me the exposure to a wide spectrum of industry specific operational frameworks and the financial nuances within each. With the new Indian accounting framework that took birth during this phase of my career, I was also presented with an opportunity to go beyond just audit to aid businesses to interpret and mould their accounting practices to beneficially absorb the new norms. Maybe this too, had a role to play in my switch over to strategy consulting.
