Chemistry’s been a passion of mine since I was a little kid! And I had a chance to realize my dreams by receiving my PhD (with honours!) and having a great opportunity to work at Stockholm University for 5 years. The research we did at Stockholm University has been covered in both Science and Nature magazines, as well as received coverage in SVT (Swedish Television). I’m really proud of our work! My other passion is for innovation and process improvement. Companies that have a drive to find new solutions, where I could use my resourcefulness to be as cost-efficient as possible while still reaching our goals, would be the type of wonderful organization I would love to work with! I’ve been lucky enough to have been able to use some of that resourcefulness to help save us over 20% in labour and equipment costs by:• Integrating different research solutions to achieve better efficiency and more accurate results• Coding Python scripts to automate big data analysis• Reusing and recycling different lab equipment to be more environmentally friendly and sustainableMy adventure here in Sweden has been great so far (I’m now a permanent resident and have fallen in love with fikas, Swedish summer)…I can’t wait to see where it continues!

Chemical EngineerHumic Growth Solutions Jan 2014 - Jan 2015Jacksonville, Florida Area• Designed and set up a wet chemistry lab, procuring reagents and labware from vendors, keeping within budget and working closely with manufacturing floor operators.• Developed standard operating procedures and processes to ensure the scale-up of manufacturing liquid fertilizers from lab-scale to pilot scale. Tweaked the humic acid’s pH levels to either acidic or alkaline depending on consumer demand.• Originated a cost-effective and time-saving batch labeling method to efficiently track each 2000 lbs bag of humic acid powder. The new process allowed Humic to save valuable hours during customer service inquiries. -
Graduate Research AssociateThe Ohio State University Sep 2008 - Dec 2013Columbus, Ohio Area• Designed and constructed a unique experimental set-up to successfully study the non-equilibrium freezing of water using ultrafast X-ray lasers at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. Created an inventory and procured all components needed for vacuum experiments, consistently keeping within budget. • Created a new analytical technique by integrating Beer-Lamberts’ law together with x-ray scattering to study the nanodroplets of water, nonane and their mixtures quantitatively through Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. -
