I decided, in my mid-20s, to pursue higher education and expand my career opportunities. At Solent University, Southampton, I chose to specialize in Renewable Energy Engineering, a field that resonated with me as I have an aspiration to find sustainable and forward-thinking solutions to the problems facing our ever-changing world. Over the course of 4 years, with my strong desire for personal growth, I wholeheartedly dedicated myself to this field, ultimately achieving a First-Class Honours degree. During my academic journey, I delved into the intricacies of renewable energy and power storage, recognizing their vital role in shaping the future of the energy industry. My expertise in this area is firmly rooted at the forefront of current knowledge and best practices. Centred on thermal energy storage, my dissertation focused on examining the viability of sand as an effective energy storage medium. By conducting thorough research and analysis, I aimed to verify if sand can serve as a valid energy storage solution. This project further solidified my commitment to finding sustainable and practical solutions within the renewable energy sector while streamlining my research and analytical skills. Balancing my academic pursuits with consistent work to support myself, I acquired a strong work ethic and a versatile skill set. This experience instilled in me a proactive attitude and the ability to adapt quickly to new challenges. In September 2023, I relocated from the UK to Vancouver, Canada. This transition presents an exciting opportunity to advance my career in a new setting.
