I studied Mechanical Engineering because I believe in the power of technology to solve problems and improve our quality of life. Mid career, I realized that the main thing holding us back from creating the improvements we need is not the lack of new technology, it's our inability to communicate effectively and collaborate with others toward common goals.I have always done best in roles where I can be a liaison between the technical and non-technical side of organizations to help foster effective communication. I am looking to be part of an team that is working together to solve difficult problems that need to be addressed.Early in my career I worked as a Design Engineer for both Automotive and Aerospace. At Shelby, I worked directly with in-house fabricators and external suppliers to build the fixtures that I designed. At Raytheon, I worked on Electronics Packaging design for Space and Airborne systems, supported unit level Environmental Testing and served as a the interconnect lead for a ground based program, responsible for cable design and procurement of all system cables.I made the shift to Supply Chain working as an engineer on the sourcing team focused on Machining & Metals, as well as, the Major Assemblies and PWB teams. We evaluated and right-sized the supply base and worked with engineers and buyers to find the right suppliers for specific requirements. As a Material Program Manager, I managed the procurement of the BOM for various programs. I was the link between the program, buyers and suppliers and led weekly team calls.For the last 10 years, I have also been a small business owner and Coach. In this role, I have become a student of everything from leadership, management, motivation, nutritional science and fitness, to marketing and sales. I have been on a quest to understand why people get stuck, how to help them get unstuck and how to create effective teams.I have participated in multiple leadership development programs and read dozens of books on leadership. I am fascinated by leaders who can systematically work with their team through difficult problems and create a positive culture. I have coached hundreds of people on entrepreneurship, marketing, sales, fitness, nutrition, etc. Ultimately, all coaching comes down to helping others get clarity about what they want, identify what is in their way, create a plan to get what they want and then systematically work toward it.My goal is to join an organization where I can leverage my background and experience to work with others to create solutions to difficult problems.
