I took on leadership responsibilities for the Auckland Verification Team following the departure of the Verification Manager.In this role, I oversee daily operations, ensuring that production jobs are completed within the specified turnaround time and that the team maintains a steady workflow. My responsibilities include providing support and guidance to both the Verification Team and the Digital Content Operations Manager.Additionally, I took on half of the Verification Manager's responsibilities related to the GS1 Accreditation Programme. This involves reaching out to ~40 accredited suppliers' sites and conducting external audits. I have also begun engaging with suppliers in person, not just over the phone or via email.A key aspect of my role is to ensure that all timelines and customer expectations are met with a high level of accuracy and efficiency, thereby contributing to the overall success of our team and services.

As the team and the demand for ProductFlow services grew, I transitioned to a permanent full-time role.I began learning about one of the crucial components of GS1: global standards and guidelines around GTIN management and barcodes. In addition to my existing responsibilities related to data entry, I took on new tasks such as testing barcodes and conducting internal audits for business processes.Once fully trained in the entire ProductFlow process, I was able to manage service requests from start to finish. I also began participating in the internal audit program to ensure business processes remained current and accurate while identifying areas for improvement. This role allowed me to gain insight into other parts of the business beyond my main responsibilities, which I found particularly enjoyable.

Following the acquisition of Images in Space by GS1 New Zealand, I continued my role as a Nutritional Database Administrator, ensuring the seamless operation and delivery of our Nutritional Data service.Initially, my responsibilities at GS1 New Zealand focused solely on the Nutritional Database, however I soon expanded my role to include involvement in ProductFlow, leveraging my expertise in data entry and verification. I assisted in validating product master data in the National Product Catalogue (NPC), ensuring the accuracy of data for food and grocery retailers by comparing GS1 collected data against supplier-provided data and helping the suppliers to update it correctly.Given my extensive experience with the Nutritional Database from my time at Images in Space, I trained existing GS1 staff on its use and developed SOP for it as back in Images in Space when we were working with the Nutritional Database we often relied on the director's guidance on case-by-case basis without structured procedures.Simultaneously, I underwent training to become proficient in the ProductFlow service and started to engage with customers.
