Mission…#WeFeedHungryChildrenHearts, Hands and Hope, Inc. © is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) children and family support organization. We provide food support and other basic needs to disadvantaged children and families. We feed hungry children. Currently there are more than 36 thousand children just in Seminole County, Florida who are disadvantaged and receive free and reduced lunch. That is almost half of all the school aged children in Seminole County. All these children need food support on a regular basis. Many of these children receive breakfast and lunch at school when classes are in session. Over the weekends, holidays and the summer they aren’t receiving regular meals. With the COVID-19 crisis and an extended break from school, these children need even more help. The Hearts, Hands and Hope Food Support Program fills that gap.Programs…The Hearts, Hands and Hope Food Support Program has made a tremendous impact in the community. The program provides bags of food or meals to local disadvantaged children during long breaks from school, including summer, holiday breaks, weekends. COVID-19 Program- We deliver more than four thousand meals each week. Plans are now in the works to continue this program on a weekly basis, even after school starts and the COVID-19 crisis ends. We are currently servicing a major food desert in the Sanford area. We have one distribution location and are working on adding an additional location, which would bring our weekly meal distribution up to almost 10 thousand a week. We are now the top distributor of meals in Seminole County, except for the school district. We have been approved for partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank. This partnership will allow us to expand our programs and feed even more children. Summer Food Program-We supply bags of food to children and families over the summer when they are not receiving food support at school. Each bag feeds a family of four to six. Volunteers pack and deliver food bags weekly to four different locations across Seminole County. These locations are strategically chosen to reach the highest population of children and families in need. Our food drop is a unique, one of a kind, program in Seminole County. Rolling Pantry Program-Similar to the Summer Food Program. We supply bags of food to homeless and disadvantaged children over the weekend and holidays. The bags are passed out at different locations across Seminole County. The locations are strategically chosen to reach the greatest number of disadvantaged children.
