Journalism has always been my first love career wise, and I’ve been privileged to have a long and enjoyable writing career, working mainly as a sportswriter but also as a sub-editor, editor and author. For nine years I was editor of golf magazine The Cut and in more recent times I’ve written a sports column for Life & Leisure magazine. My current role is sub-editor for LawVu, the Tauranga based legal workspace company.I have written six books. My first was a novel, Operation Intercept, published in 1984, followed by three sporting biographies: Kees Meeuws, Le Rugbyman - A Season in the south of France (2005), Titch [Gordon Tietjens] - Sevens is My Game (2006) and Piri [Weepu] - Straight Up (2012). I've also written My Life in Golf - 20 Great Kiwi Golf Stories, published in 2016, and in November 2017 Growing More Than Grass - Clever, Creative Rural Kiwi Women, was released. I was also a contributing author to books about a number of New Zealand sporting heroes, including John Kirwan’s Rugby World and the biography of Sir Bob Charles.
