About Heather Walters

I work on a cell based team, where we develop, qualify, and validate NAB assays, and test samples for the drug approval process. I have substantial experience in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data collected through past research activities. studied DNA repair mechanisms, putative eIF2α kinases and hypothetical proteins in the reptilian and human pathogens, Entamoeba invadens and Entamoeba histolytica. Ultimately, I have had a long-time interest and passion for human health and drug development. A crucial aspect of my experience as a researcher has been communicating my findings to audiences with varying levels of familiarity within my knowledge area. During my 6 years in academia, I successfully published 4 peer-reviewed manuscripts and presented 7 oral presentations at regional and national conferences. This has allowed me to hone my technical writing and revision skills, as well as my presentation skills.
