As the communications professional, I am responsible for developing, implementing, assessing and refining the marketing communications and events for United Way of Greater McHenry County. My overall goal is to increase the messaging to engage volunteers, donors, partner agencies and community members year-round. I am responsible for the general oversight of the United Way’s marketing strategy to include marketing material development, communication strategies, website maintenance and social media presence. I also play a significant role in producing special events and initiatives, community and partner agency relations, donor presentations fund development.

• Assist and support the General Manager to develop marketing goals and strategies, with special emphasis on increasing public awareness of facility• Assist and support the Events/Operations Manager• Develop and implement the marketing budget• Actively seek and solicit sponsorships• Increased sponsorship revenue by 40% while maintaining current sponsors• Communicate center information through media, Web site and tours of the facility• Coordinate and attend client events• Create and oversee the production of the annual entertainment guide, ticket envelopes and promotional items• Work closely with house management, technical staff and box office staff to provide the highest level of customer service to over 150 rental clients per year• Recruit potential clients while maintaining a strong relationship with current clients• Schedule and supervise house management, ushers and security for all events• Act as a community liaison by representing the center at local conventions, special events and meetings
