As an Equity & Inclusion Specialist with over 20 years of experience in the nonprofit and government sectors, I address inequities and drive meaningful change. I manage projects, analyze data, and conduct research to support the County’s DEI goals across 30 departments, using quantitative and qualitative data to remove barriers and improve equity within departments. I coordinate DEI trainings, collaborate with stakeholders to develop equitable strategies and policies, and provide technical assistance on racial equity tools used for county programs and projects. I support accountability through data analysis, and review complaints under the County’s non-discrimination ordinance. My leadership extends to executive and LGBTQIA+ training, interview panels, staff management, and community engagement.

Create and implement Community based health curriculum to engage the Latinx community andimprove health outcomes which received over one million dollars in funding.▪ Create Covid-19 response curriculum to address nutritional needs in the community impacting 20,000families.▪ Create Covid-19 education marketing campaign for Latinx community in Charlotte which included: print,radio, billboards and tv.▪ Collaborate with community partners to assess their needs through various one-on-one meetings,surveys, and focus groups to create curriculum and increase public health outcomes.▪ Work with Community Impact Directors in multiple states to develop and implement community-basedcurriculum.

Created and managed relationships with organizations and companies to ensure HEALE trainingimplementation.▪ Worked with organizations and companies to develop inclusive and culturally competent policies.▪ Assisted with the development of Nurses HEALE Curriculum, a 6-hour LGBTQA cultural competencytraining program, and was responsible for translating from English to Spanish.▪ Served as member of finance committee which evaluated program viability and maderecommendations to CEO for future effectiveness and implementation.▪ Assisted in grant writing, research, and development of curriculum for underserved communities andpeople of color.

 Executed Strength in Unity Project to work with health care providers and create policy change to increase access to wellness services for undocumented gay Latino males. Responsible for hiring, training, and supervising program associates, leading multiple fundraising efforts as well as developing and maintaining donor databases. Collaborating with public health agencies to evaluate comprehensive needs and increase services based on strategic efforts and execution. Leading organizational assessment around health needs and LGBT cultural competency. Meeting with political officials and providing education of current programming and the needs of the Latino LBGTQcommunity.

Developed and managed agencies $500,000 budget and assisted in securing over an additional $90,000 whilecultivating donor relationships with donors and elected officials to ensure future support of the agency’s mission andvalues. Responsible for hiring, training, and evaluating multiple staff associates to fulfill program requirements Consistently submitted reports to increase agency effectiveness and monitor service outcomes.
