• Project dealt with scheduling backlog in St. Paul’s Hospital’s ECHO lab, improvements were to be made in either scanning process or patient scheduling.• Studied the echocardiogram scanning technique, but due to lack of operational knowledge, no improvements could be made to decrease time spent per patient.• Analyzed room and hardware utilization and was able to improve utilization through scheduling more patients and cardiographers to decrease downtime.• Produced new patient and cardiographer guidelines for decreased patient turnaround time, decreasing the backlog and improving ECHO lab finances.
