A former senior executive with over 20 years of LeanSigma experience, Herb Brown came to TBM as a consultant in 2004 after leading the successful transformation of five different companies.Prior to joining TBM, Herb led LeanSigma work as president and CEO of Blue Giant Equipment Corporation and the Alexander Doll Company.As vice president and general manager of Johnson & Johnson Medical, Inc. Vascular Access Products he led the revitalization of this high volume, automated, disposable medical device manufacturer. Within three years, he helped to move the company from the poorest performing to one of the top ranking units in the industry. His work at Johnson & Johnson earned the company a Shingo Prize for Manufacturing Excellence in 1994, the first for a medical company.As vice president of Operations for Danaher Corporation, Herb led some of the first lean transformations in the US and expanded the use of lean tools into product development and throughout the value chain. His experience with lean began in 1985, as vice president and general manager for Quincy Compressor, and his experience with Six Sigma dates back to 1974 while a Certifed Quality Engineer (SQC) with Black & Decker. Herb has completed several study missions to Japan and worked closely with Shingijutsu. He was trained in global marketing strategy at the Thesius Institute in France and completed leadership training at Michigan State, Case Western, MIT and UNC. He has been a guest lecturer at MIT and Columbia University.Herb earned an MBA from Quincy University and a BS in Marine Engineering from the US Merchant Marine Academy.
