About Andrew Klein

I remember the first time I saw someone go into a database, draw a picture of a molecular structure, and use it to search for information. My jaw must have hit the floor. I wanted to know everything about how it worked. What data is it searching? How does it know what documents to retrieve? What do people use this for? I still have lots of questions about chemical information. How can companies best use it to plan their intellectual property strategy? What does it tell us about trends in the chemistry and materials science R&D space? What are the next generation of search tools we can use to efficiently and effectively find information about novel compounds and compositions? After more than a decade learning and working in chemical information, I know the answers to those first questions, and many more. My work at Minesoft is actively exploring the answers to the questions I still have. Do you have questions about chemical information and intellectual property? I may be able to answer them.
