Himadri Sen set up Pumpsense Fluid Engineering Private Limited in 2010 to provide training and consulting services to the users and manufacturers of centrifugal pumps. Mr. Sen started his career in pump industry as a Graduate Trainee with Mather & Platt Limited in 1974. He worked for this company for the next 19 years and handled diverse assignments, including sales, product development and strategic planning. In 1993-1994, he worked briefly for Best & Crompton Limited as Vice President of Weir, Ochsner and Worthington product ranges. He founded Allied Centrifugal Pumps Private Limited (ACP) in 1995 to manufacture split case and large end suction pumps for building, industrial services and marine fire fighting applications. In 2005, ACP merged with WILO SE and Mr. Sen took on the added responsibility as Product Expert-High Flow Pumps for Wilo group. He also joined the board of Mather & Platt at this time. He left ACP in 2009 to form a new pump manufacturing and services company – Pumpsense Fluid Engineering Private Limited. Pumpsense has established itself as a specialist manufacturer of centrifugal pumps for fire, marine, municipal services and industrial applications with an international customer base. Pumpsense has also become a recognized service provider in areas such as problem diagnostics in pumping systems, pump retrofit and upgrades, pump selection services, etc.Training in centrifugal pumps has been an area of passionate involvement for Himadri Sen since he wants to be a good explainer of the subject to the user community. He has conducted training programs and workshops for pump users and pump manufacturers all over the world. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and a Postgraduate diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata.
