I was recruited to direct advisory engagements with Splunk’s consulting group on behalf of Fortune 500-caliber clients. In this role, I provide leadership in building technical and managerial teams; analyzing needs; architecting Splunk-based big data pipelines, analytics tools, and related solutions incorporating machine learning, predictive modelling, and causal inference; and collaborating with internal stakeholders and client CTOs, CIOs, COOs, and other stakeholders in deploying solutions and facilitating change management. Key achievements:►Conceptualizing and deploying highly resilient data frameworks improving client IT security and resiliency for TD Bank, Fidelity Investments, SAP, NASA, and other clients. To this end, we aligned key stakeholders around the vision for an adaptable ML-powered infrastructure enabling the rapid mining and actionability of big data.►Modernizing end-to-end data architectures by providing technical and governance leadership over cross-disciplinary teams leveraging an Agile approach in delivering scalable hosted and cloud-based environments and integrations.►Strengthening Splunk’s internal data science and technical capabilities, providing coaching and thought leadership, and contributing libraries of reusable custom code, data frameworks, intermediary server practices, and user documentation.

Transit App develops and markets a mobile urban routing and public transportation planning app, providing services for many leading urban centers around the world.As a Lead Data Scientist on the business team, I defined and executed the strategic data science vision and structures, heading a team leveraging publicly available, proprietary, and transportation agency-supplied data in building data sets and performing data ingestion, statistical analysis and synthesis, and modeling for AI/ML engines. We performed geospatial mapping, demand modeling, predictive modeling, exploratory analysis, ETL processes, and database and API management. Key achievements:►Programming complex solutions in Python, command-line Bash script, SQL, and other languages.►Improving product functionality via the resolution of first and last-mile routing issues. To this end, I liaised with the product teams, public agencies, and developers on enhancements to the data science functionality, code reviews, documentation, and quality.►Successfully commercializing new data sets enabling several new revenue streams. I cultivated strategic collaboration partnerships with US and Canadian academic partners to create statistical models and tools with mutual benefit.►Increasing product model accuracy during a period of unpredictability due to the COVID-19 pandemic. My team and I conceptualized and launched advanced data science ridership estimation models for public use across several transportation agencies.►Building a high-performing team via coaching, mentoring, and individual career planning across the employee lifecycle.

Key achievements:►Rapidly building De Facto Education into a highly successful business generating millions of dollars in top-line revenues, and with strong EBITDA.►Recruiting and developing a loyal bench of top-performing tutors serving as a value differentiator and loyalty driver.►Heading consulting engagements with public and private schools across the Northeast US, elevating academic outcomes via collaboration on strategic analysis, benchmarking, and instructional and cultural academic delivery.►Product-managing an open-source mathematics learning software application integrating best practices in language learning, pedagogy, and memory. I hired and managed the programmer, and navigated the product from initial concept through partial development.►Directing De Facto Education’s corporate sale from the founders to an employee ownership group, guiding the process from initial valuation to final handover.
