I write. I shape narratives. I take boring things and make them unboring.I edit. I edited MarketingProfs' email newsletter for several years and reviewed submissions for its content program. I edited Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine for almost a decade, and I ran its independent comic publishing imprint, American Gothic Press. I am a content octopus with many arms in many industries such as comic books, magazine publishing, book publishing, B2B marketing, conventions, film festivals, music journalism, horror journalism, television, fashion, and popular art.I graduated from USC with a degree in Creative Writing, thereby condemning myself to a life of poverty. Har, har.I'm particularly enthusiastic when writing about rock and roll. I wrote LAST SONG for Black Mask Studios, a rise and fall rockstar story. I've written books for Cradle of Filth. I write personal essays about music and pop culture for HiLoBrow.com. My most recent comic book was GENE SIMMONS' DOMINATRIX. Gene gave me the lowdown and I wrote a four-issue series based on his ideas. I've been a dog handling volunteer at Los Angeles Animal Services for 6 years. I'm very experienced in dog walking and behavior. I've helped put together transport and rescues for red-listed dogs. I joined LAAS's administrative services team this year, part-time, to see how adoptions work from the other side. It's been very eye-opening.I've worked around books. I was the buying manager for the largest comic book shop on the West Coast, and before that, I worked at Barnes & Noble for many years. Needless to say, I'm a massive nerd.
