To support myself while studying for my three remaining certificates, I have been working part-time at M&S. This has allowed me to dedicate more time to work towards, and achieve my CompTIA Network+, Security+, and CYSA+.

I started working at Henderson Scott with hardly any IT recruitment experience and learnt a lot about the IT industry in the year I worked there which will be valuable in the next chapter of my career. While working here I gained my CompTIA A+ certification through self-study in my own time after work, on weekends, and lunch breaks. My responsibilities included, but were not limited to:• Sourcing, screening, background checking and referencing candidates • Preparing candidates CV’s to be send to clients, ensuring they are uniform in standard and layout• Creating adverts for each role I worked, including enough information for the candidates to gauge the role but not work out which company the role was with• Arranging interviews between clients and candidates, closing a candidate, and ensuring that they will attend interviews in advance, retrieving feedback from the candidate and client • Handling delicate situations, for example letting a candidate know that they have not be offered a role• Creating e-shots for each role to be sent to our candidate data which extends the number of potential applicants• Constantly updating our database with new roles and clients (both from employment websites and leads from candidates)• Using LinkedIn recruiter to headhunt candidates that may not be available on the job boards, for specialist roles that require a more meticulous search approach

I started ninesharp as a Recruitment Resourcer and within a year was promoted to a Recruitment Consultant and started recruiting my own roles for clients I had gained. I have resourced for Finance, HR and Marketing roles so have a wide breadth of experience in different sectors. In my initial role at Office, I was a Sales Assistant and had many responsibilities such as:• Ensuring I offered excellent customer service• Taking cash for goods• Explaining returns policies• Ordering new stock from our warehouse• Learning about the different styles of shoes and their benefits/features• Working to daily targets in a small teamI was promoted to Supervisor and was a member of the management team. My new responsibilities included:• The handling of both the cash and the daily float along with cashing up at the end of the day• Ensured all members of my team offer a similar level of customer service as I would expect to provide; this was ensured via training the team members to the required level• To ensure the smooth running of the outlet I was responsible for organising the stock room including taking delivery, calculating weekly figures along with putting together weekly trade reports• Organising sales/other marketable events such as Black Friday buy rearranging the store and putting up the appropriate marketing material • Completing the store timesheet weekly prior to sending to payroll to confirm all staff were paid timely• I was also responsible for co-ordinating with our head office and other parts of the business to ensure that the national image and service is adhered to
