Engineering gaslighted me.I always thought that a STEM degree would be my future. All throughout school, the math and science grades came naturally. Therefore, that was it. Engineering would soon be my home, at least that is what I thought. How did I pick what engineering school to enroll in? Like what every other reasonable engineering major did, I asked a friend which they were picking. Electrical engineering is now my future and I land an internship. Now, everything really is coming together and becoming a reality. As quickly as it all came together, it began to unravel. I began questioning "Why am I here doing this? Is this really my passion" and after soul-searching myself for an entire semester; I decided that the engineering space was not for me and I was going to pursue something I was passionate about. As a newer Financial professional, I continue to find excitement in this field every day. The journey to get here did not quite follow what is par to the course; however, I believe with my out-of-field experiences that my engineering skills bring unique utilizations. Along these experiences, my strengths include adaptability, strategy, relator, ideation, and being deliberative. I have lead data analysts teams through debugging of software, problem solving, and communicating with customers.Feel free to email me at hunter.herrera617@gmail.com if you would like to talk about any of my experiences or if you have questions.
