EMERGENCY SHELTER [ES]Leads the staff, volunteers, and youth in residence at Colorado Springs's only licensed 24-hour youth shelter providing 20 emergency beds, food, clothing, case management, and referral services for youth experiencing homelessness ages 15-20.This position is overarching of the entire Shelter endeavor including but not limited to compliance, operations, and programming to include licensing, training, fire, health, kitchen, case management, auditing, case planning, employee relations and retention, and climate and culture.Manages all aspects of operations to include youth programming, resource development and deployment, partner management including the National Safe Place program, management and professional development of shelter supervisors and case managers, oversight of facilities and maintenance/safety and security, oversight of licensure and grant/funding compliance, and budget management.

PERMANANT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING [PSH]Functioned as the milieu manager and lead service provider at a 50-unit PSH complex supported by Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) and Colorado Springs Housing Authority (CSHA) vouchers that combine rental assistance with case management, behavioral health services, an on-site food pantry, and scheduled prosocial activities that create a supportive environment for veterans formerly experiencing homelessness.Awarded vouchers based on demonstrated need utilizing the Vulnerability Index - Service Prioritization Decision Assistance Tool (VI-SPDAT) and input of CoC partners such as the Veterans Administration (VA), Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF), and Grant Per Diem (GPD) Program Managers through the Coordinated Entry (CE) process.Provided strategic team leadership based on research regarding how those with significant challenges such as mental health, addiction, or a lengthy history of homelessness, can end homelessness, increase duration of housed periods, and decrease city spending on police, jail, ambulance & detox services through PSH.

TRANSITIONAL HOUSING [TH]In addition to the Downtown Shelter, oversaw daily operation and strategic planning of the three programs (Low-Demand, Bridge, & SITH) that compose the sole VA Grant Per Diem (GPD) program in the Pikes Peak Region. Led a team of 3 subordinate case managers and a resident manager for a 26-unit dual-occupancy TH complex that averaged over $600,000 annually in reimbursements. Provided basic necessities such as food and shelter while promoting the development of individual skills with the goal of helping homeless Veterans achieve residential stability, increase their abilities and/or income, and obtain greater self-determination.Utilized the Colorado Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) to coordinate permanent housing plans for enrolled veterans.
