I created this nonprofit event in 2022 to explore and celebrate communal living in Britain. In the first year, I built a team of co-organisers, liaised with contributors, and promoted the event in collaboration with Diggers and Dreamers. We hosted around 120 people for three days, including around 30 facilitators and workshop leaders. We expanded the event to 150 people in 2023 and hope to grow it further in 2024.

Identifying funders and preparing grant applications. Negotiating with residents and trustees to develop democratic processes for conflict management, recruitment, and employment review.

As a market access medical writer, I communicated the value of new medicines via journal articles, value dossiers, health economics reports, slide decks, abstracts, and posters. I covered several disease areas, including diabetes, growth disorders, and COVID-19. I left after two years to focus on my work with intentional communities.

Working to strict deadlines, I corrected and improved the English of academic papers, mostly written by non-native speakers.

I supported a corpus linguistics project on visual analogy in philosophy. In this role, I annotated and analysed sample sentences from the British National Corpus. I then worked with the rest of the research team to agree on interpretations of ambiguous data.

I prepared and delivered around 120 undergraduate philosophy seminars. As a seminar leader, I helped students understand challenging philosophical ideas and explore their disagreements. I graded student essays and provided constructive comments. In the third year of my PhD, I was invited to deliver a psychology lecture on theories of autism.

I conceived and co-organised a conference on mental illness at the University of Essex, with 30 speakers across two days. Due to overwhelming interest, we ran an event more than twice as large as originally planned. I chaired several conference sessions and assisted with budgeting and logistics.

This project aimed to establish a non-profit student accommodation provider in Norwich. I contributed by reactivating a dormant working group, recruiting new group members and facilitating around 30 group meetings. I liaised with representatives from Norwich city council and regional businesses to secure £10,000 of grant funding. I also worked on the project mission statement and contributed to financial plans.

I supported a study of gesture in bilingual autistic children, coding qualitative video data using the software package ELAN. During my time at NTNU, I received training on scientific writing and eye-tracking.

I identified an important unmet mental health need at UEA and set up a support group. Participants discussed difficulties they faced due to adult ADHD and shared strategies for managing the condition. I worked with the Dean of Students' office to discreetly advertise the group and facilitated meetings for 8 months.

As a full time resident of a therapeutic community, I cared for adolescents with learning disabilities, ADHD, and autism. Some of the students displayed challenging behaviour. During the day, I assisted in an SEN classroom, where I learned to communicate with non-verbal students using Makaton and PECS. I was trained in conflict de-escalation and basic first aid.

I organised and chaired around 50 group discussions on various philosophical topics, booking speakers from inside and outside the university. I advertised the events using social media and posters and at student society fairs. From 2012, I was the UEA representative of the British Undergraduate Philosophy Society, and I coordinated a group trip to their annual conference in 2013.
