During the Summer of 2018, I participated in a 6-week, 400-hour internship experience with the Friends of the Yampa. The Friends of the Yampa are a non-profit entity focused on bolstering the recreational and environmental integrity of the Yampa River; a river that originates near Steamboat Springs and eventually feeds into the Colorado River. During this time, I completed stakeholder assessments, helped with event planning and execution, facilitated grant research for possible funding, and researched/authored a series on the Friends of the Yampa's website describing the various recreational opportunities that can be found on various stretches of the Yampa.
