Started as a process consultant but was soon offered a full time position to rebuild a struggling and somewhat demoralized sales department. Overhauled the sales process, incentive plan and recruited a great team. We turned around the sales in a few months and, despite COVID, achieved solid revenue growth. Handed over responsibility for sales to an internal candidate.

The task here was to turn around a demoralized and under performing department while under the watchful eyes of the GE parent company. Amongst other process innovations we held the very first online reverse auction sourcing components. I was hoping for good results but I was stunned at how much we improved our costs in a single afternoon.

This was a chance in a lifetime position. I got to see several world class businesses up close and get to suggest ways to improve them. It was very scary to be taken so seriously by seasoned professionals, but a great experience.
