Supervised electrical installation and start-up of various automated systems.The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Plant in Chile underwent an expansion aimed at increasing overallproductivity and improve the quality of tires being made. As Project Engineer, I was in charge of theinstallation of machines and systems for the Final Finish and Material Handling Divisions of the plant.Project Management- Contractors bidding process managing- Quality assurance,- Review and update drawings,- Liaison with the overseas design team,- Scheduling and cost management according to project scope and top level requirements- Shutdown work, planning and coordinationCommissioning and Start-upDuring the final stages of installation of each system, I was also the lead controls engineer, the keytasks performed during this time were:- Control hardware configuration and testing (Rockwell, Siemens, Wago, Kollmorgen and SEW).- Start-up engineer for several automated processes for the Material Handling group .- Servo motor systems programming,- PLC controlled processes programming and debugging,- HMI (Human Machine Interface) stations configuration and programming for machine operations.Major Accomplishments:Installation and Start-up of the Green Tire Conveyor system (800 conveyors).Installation and Start-up of the Final Finish Inspection and Quality Control Conveyors (150conveyors).In both cases I was in charge of the supervision of the electrical installation and control wiring plus the corresponding control devices, the design specifications and requirements came from USA.Configured all control devices and HMI stations.Debugged control logic during commissioning and start-up.Supported the entire system after start-up.On the Final Finish Inspection and Quality Control conveyors, worked on the design andimplementation of the sorting logic for each area. Programed Barcode Readers and pneumatic kickers for each station and machine.

The system consisted of Siemens S7-400 PLC, communicating with all instruments andcontrol devices over a Profibus DP fieldbus. It was controlled from an HMI implemented on aDesktop PC. Designed and supervised the assembly of the Supply Pumps Frequency Drives Panel.Control System design for an Explosives Manufacturing Plant. Control logic design and programming for a Batch-type explosive mix production scheme. The system PLC was a Siemens S7-200.Complete automation of the entire Nectar 1 Production Line at Vital S.A.Control logic design and control system field installation and commissioning of the Nectar 1production line conveyors, plus line interfacing and integration with several already existing processmachines (bottler, capper and labeler). The system was based on Profibus DP fieldbus.
