UW HFS provides on-campus housing for University of Washington students. The Resident Advisor role serves as an intermediary between HFS administration and residents. In my two years with the company, I worked in staff team of 9-20 members. We were each responsible for conflict mediation, wellness and risk assessment, event planning and upholding community standards for a floor of 50 student residents. I addressed and documented policy violations, led floor meetings, facilitated apartment standards meetings, and directed students in need to resources and authorities for help. I adhered to general procedure while adapting to unforeseeable scenarios, and used my technological experience to solve problems and augment the residential experience.
