About Ignacio Sanchez

Ignacio Sanchez is Chair of DLA Piper's National Security & Global Trade Practice. He is also Co-Chair of the firm's Hispanic/Latino Organization for Leadership and Advnacement (HOLA).He is a trusted advisor to national and international clients on a broad range of issues before the Executive branch, Congress and the courts. He advises clients on the development and implementation of comprehensive strategies to protect the clients’ interests.Her has been representing clients in the most complex and far-reaching economic sanctions and trade regulatory matters for over 30 years. He has been the lead lawyer and successfully resolved over 70 enforcement matters, over 90 licensing matters and numerous sanctions-related disputes in U.S. and foreign courts. He is considered an expert by the U.S. Congress having been called to render testimony before numerous committees of Congress (House and Senate) concerning US sanctions policy. He also served as a global trade advisor to the Bush 2020 campaign and served on its Treasury and USTR transition teams.
