I am a lecture in Computer Science at the University of Sydney, AU. Previously, I was an assistant professor with the College of Computer Engineering and Sciences, PSAU, Saudi Arabia. I have served in various positions of Researcher at UNSW, Research scholar at National ICT Australia (NICTA)/Data61 CSIRO Australia, NUST Islamabad Pakistan and SEEMOO TU Darmstadt Germany, and Research Collaborator at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory Stanford University USA. I have research and development experience in privacy preserving systems including private advertising and crypto-based billing systems. My primary research interest include privacy enhancing technologies; I also have interest in Internet of Things, Blockchain, network modeling and design, network measurements, and trusted networking. I have experience in mobile ad data analytics and have worked in design and analysis of cryptographic protocols and privacy. I use various data mining and machine learning techniques for knowledge discovery, classification, regression analysis, etc. My work involves different areas of computer science such as, machine learning, algorithms and data structures, optimization theory, modeling and designing, network programming, cryptography, and probability. Data Analysis:• Experience in collecting, parsing, and handling large datasets• Managing database systems and conducting extensive data analysis • Familiarity with statistical analysis and modeling • Experience in visualising and presenting data and experiment resultsPrivacy in Mobile Ad/Data Analytics and Advertising:• Quantifying privacy issues arising in mobile ad data, identifying potential entities leaking user’s private information further and proposing solutions to preserve user’s privacy• Examining use of relatively new methodologies for design of privacy-preserving mobile advertising system that relies on crypto techniques, enabling user profiling, and targeted ads without revealing user interests to the mobile advertising networks• Designing private billing mechanism to enable pricing that makes it possible to carry out billing process for deducting/crediting money among various entities in current mobile advertising networksSoftware Development:• Software development in Java, Python and C++, for research activities• Developed an Android app that collects application usage information and other metadata from mobile phones, constructs user profiles, interacts with large ads databases and presents users with relevant advertisements, obfuscating apps to preserve user profile privacy
