Ensuring collaborative working across the teams. - Responsibility for maintaining staff records for sickness, annual leave, absence - taking appropriate action where necessary. Yearly appraisals and monitoring of performance of team members, helping them to achieve their learning outcomes. - Within the framework of clinical governance assisting the ward sister in being proactive in responding to and investigating complaints, clinical incidents and medication incidents to ensure that robust systems are in place for informing and improving evidence based practice.- Ensuring a safe clinical environment is maintained through participation in risk management processes; audit, risk assessment, managing, reporting and investigating clinical incidents.- Active role in recruitment, leading interviews and selection of new staff. Assisting in orientation and induction of new staff to the ward. Maintaining a supportive learning environment for new staff and assisting in the development of junior staff.
