As a Lead Ocean Engineer at Skyology, I apply my expertise in data science, machine learning, and mathematical modeling to develop a carbon-dioxide removal (CDR) method capable of extracting over 5 tons of atmospheric CO2. I perform both Techno-Economic Analysis (TEA) and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) on CO2 removal technologies and develop a Python model for atmospheric CO2 capture. I have been working in this role for seven months, since February 2023.I have over 14 years of experience in environmental engineering, environmental biotechnology, and microbiology, with a focus on using mathematical models to design and improve engineered systems and human health. I obtained my Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Arizona State University in 2009. As a Research Professor, I worked on a wide range of research topics, including wastewater treatment, nanoparticle synthesis, and human digestive systems and metabolism. I also mentored and instructed several undergraduate and graduate students, as well as visiting scholars, and served as a dissertation co-chair and a Ph.D. committee member. I hold multiple certifications in data science, machine learning, and data-driven decision-making from reputable online platforms.
