Iris Epstein is an assistant professor at York University, school of Nursing Faculty of Health, Toronto Canada. She earned her BScN from University of Montreal (1998) and PhD in Nursing from the University of Toronto (2007) with a focus on Health Technology and Place. Iris research focus on the outcomes emerging from the interaction between health, technology and places using scoping review, mix methods and arts informed designs. Iris has both published in the area of e-learning; assisted technology in nursing education and inclusion in nursing pedagogy. Iris was recently awarded the SSHRC IDG. As well iris is leading the development and evaluation of a Smartphone Accommodation Resource toolbox (SmART) for teaching and learning skills across diverse disciplines (supported by the Academic Innovation Fund, at York University).
