After graduating from CSUN in 2018 and obtaining my B.A. in Chicana/o Studies with a minor in Child and Adolescent Development, I was welcomed to UCLA's M.A./Ph.D. Program in Chicana/o and Central American Studies. Currently, I am a Ph.D. candidate and a Dissertation Year Fellow. My research interests include Central American history, migration, and labor in Los Angeles. For my dissertation, I gather first-hand accounts from Central American migrant workers in the Los Angeles garment industry. Importantly, my work is dedicated to my family and our experience navigating the industry. My work has granted me several distinctions, such as the Eugene V. Cota-Robles Award, the GOLD SHIELD Alumni Award in Ethnic Studies, and the UCLA/Keck Humanistic Inquiry Graduate Research Award, and the Haynes Lindley Doctoral Fellowship. Over the last 6 years, I have also had the privilege of serving numerous campus entities as a teaching assistant, instructor, counselor, and mentor. In my spare time, I enjoy solitude, running, young adult fiction, and Netflix-binging alongside my two cats and a chihuahua.
