After walking down a long and windy path, I came to the realization that I want to combine my passions for mathematics and education in a professional setting. My primary career goal is to become a math educator at the secondary level. I have particular interest in algebra, geometry, and calculus. Studying mathematical curriculum at George Fox University has prepared me for being the person I want to be, both professionally and personally. My uncle, a high school math teacher, has been a source of inspiration and has encouraged me to pursue my professional goals.Dedication and perseverance are characteristics that I highly value and believe are essential for navigating the modern world. I am also progress-orientated. I enjoy setting goals for the students I instruct and help them develop the skills and confidence necessary to reach those goals. When appropriate, I present new intellectual challenges that build upon existing concepts.My personal interests include books, movies, sports, puzzles, and music. My favorite quote is by George R.R. Martin: "A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies... the man who never reads lives only one." Reading provides me with the opportunity to broaden my perspectives and experience new stories that I otherwise would never hear.
