In this role, I undertook field data collection in a variety of regional sites in order to support carbon credit projects. During field data collection, I identified and measured a variety of flora species and monitored sites for intrusions and pest fauna species.

Willoughby, NSW

In this role, I contributed to the enhancement of native flora diversity within a small collection of bush reserves. This involved native and exotic plant identification, weed management, land management and soil erosion control.

During this three month internship I conducted an invasive plant mapping project and also formed a restoration project. I gained valuable experience in the field with on the ground mapping, and also in the office with ArcGIS. I also learnt a lot about managing restoration projects, and gained valuable skills in habitat rehabilitation.

In this position I helped conduct vegetation surveys, set up radial plots and entered data. I gained valuable and practical experience using my knowledge from my degree in the field.

From this volunteer position I have gained valuable experience in data entry, plant collection, lab work and native plant identification.
